World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is used (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will increase after a future reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a significant chance that the item could become obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.
In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also item upgrader which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Using Glyphs Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrade an item it will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback, as the item can increase in price even if you don't need it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, with an initial level and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by an increment of 10. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The upgrader for items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item it is given an opportunity to fail. The rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go back to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, item upgrading will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients for upgrading.
